BLER 2.0: Strengthen board level participation
The participation of employee representatives in companies is an important aspect of labor relations in European Union countries. #BLER (Board Level Employee Representation) is a form of workplace democracy that addresses contemporary challenges such as democratic deficit, social inequalities, decision-making dispersion, the climate crisis, digitization, automation of work, labor market fragmentation, and the COVID-19 crisis. This project aims to address the lack of employee representation at the management level in EU businesses by promoting transnational cooperation among social partners from Bulgaria, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Turkey. The objective is to enable employee representatives to participate in the decision-making process and have a vote, as well as access to key information. The initiative seeks to strengthen employee involvement at the board level and draft recommendations for national and European legislation. By highlighting the non-political benefits of #BLER solutions and sharing knowledge and good practices, the project aims to build a more democratic and successful society and economy, fostering employee involvement in the workplace. Social partners will learn about German employers’ perspectives on #BLER solutions and use their experience, acquired knowledge, and research results to develop universal solutions in this area and beyond.
